where can i view a fishing show that talks about small, shallow river fishing in the great lakes aera?
I live on the huron river below the bellville dam. This is a very productive (smallmouth, muskie, pike, walleye and cat fishing river)located in southeastern lower michigan. I would like to be a better fisherman on my home water. Can you help?
Once in a while they may have something on espn or the outdoor network. The key to fishing a river is finding current breaks(the downriver side of an island, bridge pilings, and even quick dropoffs. If there are submerged snags, like trees that fell into the river at the banks- it is a good spot to fish for catfish. On the river I fish, you might find a few spots that are 10 foot deep but not many. You can also try fishing where creeks and streams feed into the river

Try using a basspro shops mellon pepper tube 31/2 in. or small spinner baits for the small mouth, a zoom fluke in albino may also work or a blue/silver floating rapala. The small mouths should be in the current or close to it. In the spring they should be on a flat that is close to deeper water getting ready for the spawn, and you should find some decent fish. Good Luck
