if you kill mushy … if you kill mushy dark chums you will have a mushy crappy meal. If you really are a chef(and i am) you should know better. This is common knowledge up here and thats why fresh chums are good table fare if you know the rules and can cook outside the box.
yes. chums got a … yes. chums got a bad rap for eating because many fishermen are lousy cooks! I used to cook in restaurants and learned some secrets to cooking fish. Chums are oily. I like to filet mine fresh, and cook filets on medium heat in large skillet with oil and the right seasoning and fresh lemon juice- very good.
How you cook chum is not how you cook sockeye for the most part. My greek style chum is very nice.
Maybe I will do Chum Gourmet TV.

I’m looking forward to fishing here for the rest of my life in my future thanx
the fraser’s … the fraser’s tributaries such as the harrrison or vedder are for some reason more clear but in some piont in the system the fraser’s main branch is actually pretty clear
thanks!
We have … thanks!
We have Chum fishing dialed in very good with all methods. If you want some of that good cookin then you can book with me and experience some great rewards!
we too have issues … we too have issues with salmon farms. We are trying very hard to make them go away. When people stop eating this toxic and environmentally destructive product then they will shut down.
As for our wild Chum salmon, their numbers are healthy in the rivers we fish and we have good management of them. Closing it down is NOT necessary.
thanks for the concern however.
Good video, but may … Good video, but may I comment? I live in Ireland and I have personally witnessed our salmon stocks desimated by greedy commercial fishermen and govt quotas, on top of this salmon farms desimated our magnificent sea-trout because of sea-lice infestations. Please demand an immediate end to all of these activities in your area or you will end up like Ireland and striped bare of your natural asset.
I live in Ireland … I live in Ireland and fished the Harrison river in oct 08 for chum salmon, they fight like the devil and I would have loved it if you were cooking these fish for me the way you suggest here. Yum.
Those are some nice … Those are some nice chum, still all shiny and newish!
The chum are most plentiful in most rivers in B.C.Done right, they ain’t bad eating and great for smoking.
Other salmon species are more desired by commercial fishers and MOst sport anglers.Catching silver chum like these are jus as fun and a prize as catching any spring, coho or pink.Mind you catching descaled chum is fun at first but the novelty wears off soon.
These dead chums are not even a dent in the chum population.
Nice Fish!!!
Our Chums are fresh … Our Chums are fresh from the sea and fight like hell! they are great sportfish. they have the rep of being poor table fish but I used to be a chef and i figured out some really great recipes for them. we always cook one up on the river and everyone loves it, even other guides.
