best set up for perch or pike river fishing?

Posted by : admin

i began to take an interest in fishing about 2 weeks ago so i dont know that much. me and a few of my friends go fishing at the river stour in bournemouth.. i would like to know in simple form what the best set up would be for pike and perch. e.g – baits, size hooks, positioning, weights, floats, best weather, ect…

Pike are very aggressive. Use big crankbaits. I use a lot of rapalas for all types of fish as my name says.

Perch is a different animal here. The best bait is minnows just off the bottom about a foot. They’ll hit crawlers too but minnows are the best.

I always like to fish ahead of a front coming in is better but perch will hit most any time.

when you catch a perch, put that on a large hook just below the dorsal fin and three feet below a large bobber to get the pike. Pike eat perch like the chinese eat rice. Both pike and perch are daytime feeders also.
