Bay of Fundy is an excellent area for fishing tours. From New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Maine. There are also numerous rivers that are good for fishing but that is more seasonal.

I don't suggest fishing on the Bay of Fundy unless you have your sea legs, the swells can be over 100 ft. Riding a rollercoaster with the perpetual smell of fish may not be your cup o' tea! *lol*

You can also do a whale watching tour in Cape Breton ... I bet they can't do THAT in Italy!

P.S. Even the mooses are friendly in Cape Breton lol
References :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjJg87kXKE0

There are a lot of deep sea fishing tours out of PEI, especially the north shore like North Rustico but relatively far fewer out of Nova Scotia ports. But there is one that I've been wanting to try (and haven't yet) out of Halifax. They even catch shark. Check out their web site at http://www.bluesharkcharters.com/Fishing.htm

The NS boat tours tend to be more sightseeing oriented than fishing. Lots of whales, seals, and birds on their tours - which are really nice. Some guarantee that you will find whales. One I was on had whales swim right under the boat.
