Is fishing tournaments for money gambling?

Actually it is considered gambling as most tourneys have also a calcutta in addition to the tournament prize. Calcutta is when you buy your self or antoher to win in the tourney -

    I never really thought of it like that, but i think it would be! Its no different than the bars having there football competitions and thats illegal, though we all do it.

    Yes, it’s gambling but because it is a game of skill it is also probably legal under most state laws. You should check your local laws first before participating or running such a tournament.
