how can i win a fishing tournament?i already try all kinds of lures on tournaments and nothing,no winings…?

Posted by : admin

every time i go to a tournament i loose money.

The lures and the rods and reels ,the boats ,all the tools will not get you a win. Knowledge gained from experience and time spent on the water learning the patterns of the fish is the only key to winning tourney’s. Fish with people who do win and learn all you can from them.

Time spent fishing is time spent learning .Take each fishing trip and see what worked ,what did not, conditions? All of this will add to your Knowledge.
Good luck.

What are you fishing for? What techniques have you tried? This question is vague to the point of being unanswerable.

This is a vague question, but you should definitely pre-fish the water you’re fishing the tournament on. Dunno what else to tell ya w/o more details

How about one of your field staff Joe? I will answer but please come to the site anyway, we are working hard on it.

Time on the water, knowledge of your quarry and experience with your tackle will in time develop into success. There are no short cuts, magic baits and by all means DO NOT use WD40. Get involved with some good fishing sites such as AnglersResource.org and read everything you can. Read it many times until you remember the information. This way when you get to a tough condition you will have the knowledge to know what changes in baits and presentations you need to make. Go in with the attitude that you can do it. When the time is right you will win, you just have to put the time in if you want it bad enough. I hope this helps and please come join Joe and I.

As in any sport, "practice makes perfect".

Tourney Bass-fishing (in my opinion) is broken down into these categorys:

    1. 50% is Money- Tourney Bass-fishing COSTS big money! Even if you don’t own a boat, (you T-fish as a Non-boater), decent rods/reels/tackle Etc are VERY expensive. Not to mention entry-fees!

(If you only own 2-3 rods, 12 crankbaits, 8 bags of worms, and a smattering of terminal tackle then you are ill-prepared to be fishing in contests!)

Good tackle can "make or break" you as a fisherman! A winning tourney-fisherman must have tackle that covers every possible condition in every possible lake/river!

    2. 30% is Casting Ability- If you can’t "feather" a spinnerbait, "Flip" (or pitch) a Jig, or "Skip" a dock with "precision" you won’t excell in T-fishing.

How your lure enters the water & how you retrieve lures are KEY to becoming a good T-fisherman! A good T-fisherman KNOWS that EVERY cast counts!

A quarter-back has to know how to throw. A baseball player has to know how to catch. A Pro-fisherman HAS to know how to cast!

Other pro atheletes PRACTICE. You should too!

    3. 10% is "Bass Radar"- This takes time. Having the ability to know "where" they might be & what they might bite on is something you don’t "get" in a couple fishing trips!

Your best bet is to spend as much time on ANY body of water learning various scouting techniques. (If you can’t figure out your local pond or lake then paying an entry fee to fish a tourney is like flushing your money down a drain!)

The worse part- Even if you "know" where the fish are, you have to convince your "boat-owning" partner that YOU do and that can be difficult, (at best)! (lol)

    4. 10% LUCK- Are ya lucky punk? (lol-teasin)

At pro level, all things being equal, (everyone has a superb boat & electronics/TONS of tackle/The finest reels & rods/ Maps/ ETC.), LUCK can be the only thing that makes a difference.

Marry these different category’s/attributes together and you will almost always "place" (or win) in a fishing event.

However, lack (even) one of these categorys and your odds on winning are diminished considerably!

Just remember, you only "get back" what effort you "put in" to anything!

    Hope this helps? Good LUCK!
