Good fishing spots in Sarasota for those without a boat?
I like to fishing underneath the ringling bridge but im ready to try a new spot. ANyone have any suggestions?
Don’t have a boat?
Why not rent a Kayak or canoe at a local state park?
They are cheap to rent and you will triple your catch ratio!
Try taking a short drive to Oscar Scherer State Park. You can fish fresh OR saltwater and it’s a nice scenic "paddle" too. Plus, this is a "no-motor" zone waterway! For more info call park at 941-483-5956.
Another NICE "wade-able" area- Philippi Estate Park in Safety Harbor FL. Cast "topwaters" until you get a strike and then "slow down" and fancast Jig/Mud-minnow or a "popping cork/live shrimp".
Ken Thompson Park can be good fishing either EARLY (like 5-9 am) or late in the day(7-9 pm).
I would also hit Bay Island Park on Siesta Dr.
I wonder if Jiggs Landing is still around? There’s a good freshwater destination.
If your RICH go to Tidy Island. (lol)
Hope this helps ya? Good luck!

Any of the bridges, that was a walkway can be good.
If you are interested in doing some wade fishing, i can relay some of that information to you too
