Wild salmon fishing report?

Posted by : admin

Well im doing a report that i have to make a law. And my topic is wild salmon fishing. Are there any reasons to fish for wild salmon?

Not really. They are in decline pretty much everywhere. The only argument in favor of it is that the gene pool has been altered from interbreeding between hatchery and native fish.

In all truth, two hatchery fish can reproduce in the river. Their offspring will have an attached adipose fin. Unless someone tests their DNA the are wild fish.

You may wish to contact the Alaska Fish and Game Department.
I have fished Alaskan waters and every year have been met at the docks by a representative who checks my catch and notes hatchery fish versus wild Pacific salmon.
I have received "reports," from that survey–perhaps you can get a report from them also.
