Where could I find a nice smaller community in Louisiana, close to lakes for fishing,and cheap land for sale?

My husband and I are wanting to move to Louisiana, We would like a small town or small town feel. Close to lots of Water or lakes, with land to buy that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!?!? Any suggestions are helpful!

    Try looking at the parishes near the gulf. Vermilion parish has a river passing through it. You’d have to build up though in case of flooding…
