When is trout season to go fishing in lakes?

Posted by : admin

I live up near illinois and go fishing at Lake of the Woods it was great last year but i need to know what time of day and month? best answer will i repeat WILL get ten points!!

I’m not in that area, so I don’t know the specifics of that lake, but generally speaking, first make sure the lake is open to fishing- see the regulations for that area.

Second, contact bait shops and sporting goods stores in that area, they should have some good advice for you.

Early season, as soon as the lake opens is usually some of the best fishing of the year, as the fish are often hungry after a long winter.

If there are trout in the water, you can get some early in the year- Bass will often move into the shallows to spawn in early to mid spring and can be dynamite. They will hit nearly anything thrown at them. They usually want slightly warmer water temperatures, so when the water starts to warm and they are in the shallows is an excellent time.

Morning, and evenings are usually best for any fishing.

Good luck!
