Best city/town to raise kids in Colorado, secluded cabin type, fishing, hiking, lakes…?

Posted by : admin

Hi. I am interested in finding a city or town in Colorado that would be great for raising a family. Something where I could buy a secluded cabin by a lake with good fishing, hiking, etc., but that has good schools in town and some decent "town life" for adults. Any suggestions?

Yes, absolutely. I have 2 choices. If you have a lot of money then you need to look closely at Telluride.
The next choice, and one of my personal favorites, is Durango. My brother lives there and it’s absolutely gorgeous! It is a fantastic smaller town that has everything you have asked for and more. They even have a small college (Ft. Lewis) if you want to do some school work. The skiing is fantastic, great hiking in the Rockies and the fishing is fabulous. You can do lake fishing or stream fishing in a lot of places. Check out some websites:

Good luck!! I hope you find what you are looking for.
