I am trying to plan a fishing trip in Alaska for next year. Looking for recommendations for lodges/guides?

Posted by : admin

the plan is to go King Salmon and halibut fishing.

I always stay at the Red Cabin B&B between Soldotna and Kenai. The proprietors have become family friends, and their accomodations are perfect. August/September is silver season on the Kenai river, and the fishing is amazing. Jeff King Charters is just a mile or two away and will take care of you 100%. Tell ‘em Dave in Atlanta recommended you! http://redcabinbandb.homestead.com and

If you go to http://www.jsgetaway.com click on extras, click on excursions, then click on Alaska, you will find a bunch of great lodges and guides. Hope this helped!

For either of these species, try to get with the chamber of commerce, in Seward or Homer Alaska. Of the two I would try Seward first as we have seen some very large fish from that area, especially Halibut.
Also, check one the seasons for each, they might be different.
You can also e-mail "Alaskan travel Industry Assn." at
    http://www.travelalaska.com, for their recommendations.
Or, you can call (907) 224-2424 for a hook up to any of the charter fishing boats and local information of facilities in Seward.

    Go to:
    Coolworks.com – lodge &resort jobs
if you want to get your vacation while earning a living.
Sounds like a fun way to get what you want, but it’s just not for me. Alaska "sounds" like it is too far away.

I lived in Alaska for 7 years. Seward is a great town for Halibut fishing. Just go to the docks and you will see tons of charter boats that will take you out.
