Anybody know some good fishing spots near elgin illinois?

I’m looking for some good fishing spots near elgin illinois. Nothing to hard just some on shore casting. I’d like to bring home what I catch.

There are some parks along the Fox River in that area, Anywhere from Algonquin to Batavia. I hope you are just doing catch and release though. I wouldn’t eat anything out of that river.

I live in northwestern Connecticut and the biggest fish I can find around here is a 5lb largemouth. I have a 6 ft medium action Ugly Stick and I want to catch large fish without ruining my rod. I’ve heard about Niantic Bay, but where are some specific spots where I can fish from shore? P.S. I don’t have a boat.

Fishing spots around pittsburgh or in westmoreland county?

I would like to know of some spots to fish, for fathers day, in westmorland county (Near Greensburgh) or around pittsburgh (Mon, allegheny, etc.) and also since i never really fishind rivers what kind of tackle i would need.

Trolling and baiting is also a good way the catch rotten fish

i just went fishing with my son and mother-n-law today and caught my first fish ever…..not sure where it was but i caught a bass…it was a 16 i think….but my son said he wanted just us 2 go go sometime….where are there good spots to fish in or around dubuque,ia?

Take out your phone book and look up bait & tackle dealers in the yellow pages. Then drop by the ones nearest your area and ask them the same question you just asked us. It is their job and their business to know and to be able to give folks like you good advice when you ask for it. In all probability, they will also have local maps that may even be used for pinpointing specific spots. And MOST importantly, they will also have the current fishing regulations that will tell you what you can catch and what (how many) you can keep. Iowa’s Department of Natural Resources also has pretty good fish identification pictures in their regs so you won’t have to wonder what the heck it was that you caught. Iowa has some very good fishing and is kind of a sleeper as far as attracting out-of-state fishermen, but there are always fish to be found and caught somewhere in the state and you should have no trouble at all finding something close by. You know this gets asked a lot and the answer is nearly always the same if we told you then they wouldn’t be secret any more would they? Your best bet is to study the charts for the lakes, bays and coast. Look for structure that fish hang out at, watch where other fisherman are catching fish and pay attention to when and where the fish and game stocks fish.

Google Tiki Island, 61st St Pier or you could fish right off East or West Beach, the jetties there along the wall are good too. Try fresh shrimp under a popping cork

Im going fishing in a few days and i want to know where its better to fish at.
This is what im looking for:
Low Current
Variety of Fish
Land fishing

If you cant find/look for any, then find some similar to it.

Also, what is a good bait to fish salmon with? And recommended simple bait for other fishes.
